7 Tricks to Get Rid of Bloating Fast

Bloating isn’t a serious condition, but can be very uncomfortable. Unfortunately, no matter how we protect ourselves against it and no matter how hard we try to combine foods properly, bloating may occur in any moment.

Here are the most common causes of bloating:

– incorrect combination of food
– gluten or lactose intolerance
– soft drinks
– artificial sweeteners that irritate the stomach
– too much salt in the diet that cause water retention
– poorly cooked beans and lentils

Here are 7 tips to help you treat this condition:

1. Eat foods rich in potassium

Foods rich in potassium: bananas, melons, mango, spinach, mushrooms, almonds, walnuts, pistachio nuts, avocado, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds, fish, tomatoes and asparagus.
Potassium helps remove sodium from the body (responsible for most cases of bloating) and eliminates toxins.

2. Do not overdo carbs

Carbs, especially bread, refined cereals and pasta, retain more water in the body and promote bloating. Try a balanced diet, combined with vegetables and salads. Always choose good carbs and avoid processed foods.

3. Eat parsley

Parsley is a natural diuretic, highly effective in combating bloating. It contains vitamins A, C, E, B complex, manganese, iron, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, sulfur and iodine.
Due to its high content of vitamins and minerals, parsley is excellent for detoxification and proper digestion. So, if you have problems with bloating, try parsley-based salads.

4. Eat plain yogurt

Yogurt contains stomach-friendly bacteria that relieve stomach cramps, bloating, constipation and other digestive problems. So, if you get bloated, consume a plain yogurt to get rid of unpleasant sensation. Of course, plain yogurt is not recommended if you have lactose intolerance.

5. Exercise

If you don’t exercise, digestion is slowed and bloating may occur. Don’t sit and watch TV after eating, even if you’re in the office. Try walking, climbing stairs or, if possible, go to the gym for half an hour.

6. Drink ginger tea

No matter how much you hate ginger tea, you should always have it in the house. This tea helps you get rid of colds and nausea, and bloating too. If you can’t stand the pungent taste, add some honey for extra sweetness.
In Ayurvedic medicine, herbs such as ginger, mint and turmeric are ideal for an upset stomach.

7. Drink a glass of warm lemon water

Bloating will disappear if you drink warm lemon water 10 minutes after eating. Besides that, if you drink lemon water in the morning, you make sure you’ll not get bloated during the day. No wonder the models consume lemon water daily.

Nutritionists recommend proper hydrating to avoid constipation that favors bloating. Water is excellent for digestion because it moves the bolus in the stomach. Drink water throughout the day and you will feel much better. The required amount is closely related on how active is the person in question.
However, this amount shouldn’t be less than 1.5 liters a day – 1 pint consumed 3 times a day.
